Park Farm Chalet description

     

Located on a working livestock farm in a peaceful, rural environment, yet only 4 miles from the picturesque town of Cranbrook with its quaint shops, pubs, restaurants, sports centre, famous windmill, nearby Sissinghurst Castle and gardens, 25 minutes from Bedgebury Pinetum perfect for cycling, bird watching, access to Bredgebury and Hemsted Forests for horse riding (TROT).

Staplehurst station is approx 15 minutes away with a service to London or the coast. Tunbridge wells is a 20 minute drive for the shopping and visting the famous pantiles. This is a perfect base for visiting the many Castles, gardens, National Trust properties and historic houses easily reached within a short drive from this delightful holiday home.

Park Farm Chalet is a newly refurbished farm property located within the grounds of the farmhouse with surrounding farmland. There are many footpaths, bridleways and quiet lanes to explore. Shops for the local produce. The owners of this cottage supply and own a butchers shop in Hawkhurst where you can enjoy beef, lamb and eggs from their own farm that also supplys local pubs and restaurants.                                                                         

    

A stable door leads directly into the bright, modern and comfortable furnished property. Solid oak flooring throughout with the pretty kitchen area to one end. White shaker style wall and floor units with marble effect top house the stainless steel sink, oven with grill and stanless steel electric hob, slimline dishwasher, microwave and a fridge with freezer compartment complete the compact kitchen.

The living area, comfortably furnished with a large sofa (can be used as a sofabed) armchairs, oak table with chairs, coffee table, dresser with colour TV/DVD, an oak trestle, floor rug and a wood burning stove (available from Autumn 2006) nestling on a brick hearth.

A second door leads out to the rear grassed garden area with outlook over the large pond (fenced) and available for carp fishing (charge applicable). There is a storage cupboard in the lounge area, housing the automatic washer/dryer,ironing board and othe items. There are two pretty bedrooms, both furnished in pine, a double bedroom with wardrobe,bedside table with lamps, and a pretty bedroom with clothes hanginghooks, chest of drawers, mirror and bedside chest with lamp.

The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over. Washbasin, WC and heated towel rail/radiator.

To the front of this pretty property is a spacious gravel seating area with garden table & chairs, barbecue/patio heater and wonderful outlook over the rolling fields and paddocks (Hawkhurst Church spire can be seen in the distance) This is a working farm with sheep, cows, horses and dogs and at times, lambing and calving are in evidence. The cottage is fenced off from the farm, but guests can use the footpaths across the fields and upon request, can be shown around the farm.
